Course Overview

This 5-day intensive training program equips environmental engineers, safety officers, and industrial professionals with expert-level knowledge of hazardous material (HAZMAT) management, safe chemical handling, and pollution prevention strategies. Participants will gain hands-on experience with regulatory compliance, spill response, and contamination control aligned with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.

Course Objectives

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and classify hazardous materials (DOT, GHS, NFPA 704)
  • Implement safe storage and handling procedures for chemicals
  • Design pollution prevention plans (SPCC, SWPPP)
  • Execute emergency spill response (containment, neutralization, disposal)
  • Apply OSHA HAZWOPER standards (29 CFR 1910.120)
  • Conduct risk assessments for chemical exposure
  • Manage hazardous waste (RCRA, CERCLA compliance)
  • Use digital tools for HAZMAT tracking and reporting
