Course Overview
This specialized training program provides oil and gas professionals with comprehensive knowledge and practical tools to identify, assess, mitigate, and manage risks across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations. The course covers industry-specific hazards, quantitative risk analysis (QRA), safety case development, and compliance with API, OSHA, and ISO standards. Participants will learn through case studies, risk modeling software, and real-world scenarios to enhance operational safety and decision-making.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand oil and gas industry-specific risks (process safety, environmental, operational).
- Apply HAZID, HAZOP, Bow-Tie, and FMEA methodologies for risk assessment.
- Conduct Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
- Develop Safety Cases and Risk Registers compliant with API RP 580/581, ISO 17776.
- Implement Process Safety Management (PSM) and Asset Integrity Management (AIM) strategies.
- Align risk management with OSHA 1910.119, Seveso III Directive, and SEMS requirements.
- Use risk modeling tools (PHAST, DNV GL, SAPHIRE) for consequence analysis.
