Course Overview:
Catalytic Cracking is one of the most crucial conversion processes in
a petroleum refinery and plays a vital role in an integrated refinery.
The FCC process will likely be used for biofuels and possibly for reducing CO2
emissions. The catalytic cracking unit is a critical asset in refineries, requiring
optimized processes in the context of engineering design to process a wide variety
of feeds. The operation of the cat cracker must also be adjusted and maintained at optimum conditions for
maximum profitability.
This training course will cover the Catalytic Cracking process. The catalytic Cracking unit converts feedstocks
into valuable products, Catalytic Cracking feedstock quality and cracking, cracking technology and
maximizing Catalytic Cracking, and troubleshooting deals with identifying and solving problems.
Course Aims and Objectives:
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
• Understand the Catalytic Cracking process and incorporating chemical engineering fundamentals in
petroleum refineries.
• Explain process control operation and feed physical properties
• Describe the chemistry of reactions and Catalytic Cracking performance to optimize feed rate and
product qualities
• Understand of cracking technology, the latest development, and maximize FFCU
• Understand of troubleshooting with effective and timely
Training Methodology
This training seminar will utilize a variety of proven adult learning techniques to ensure maximum
understanding, comprehension, and retention of the information presented. The course is designed as a
blended environment of presentations; workshops; group work; practical exercises; field application/ case
studies, analysis, and several industry videos showing all processes; and general discussions.
Pre & Post course assessments will be used to measure the effectiveness of this training.
