Introduction:

This course provides an introduction and comprehensive discussion on the treatment of produced water in oil production facilities, including water injection systems. It covers not only the engineering aspects of these facilities but also addresses practical operational challenges. Topics covered include the treatment of emulsions, sand handling, wax and asphaltenes management, natural gas dehydration, sweetening, and refinery processing. The course aims to equip participants with knowledge and strategies to effectively address these operational issues in oil production facilities.

Course Objectives:

At the end of the Oil Production and Processing Facilities course the participants will be able to:

  • Learn the origins and chemical characteristics of Oil & Gas
  • Understand the challenges associated with offshore operations, horizontal drilling and other safety concerns
  • Familiarize the participants with various methods and techniques used to explore, drill, produce, treat and transport Oil, Gas and their products
  • Introduce the participants to upstream, midstream and downstream operations
  • Appreciate Oil & Natural Gas treatment technologies and processes including produced water treatment
